Friday Arrival

Enjoy checking in your Bed & Breakfast and get settled for the weekend.

Drive to the Strand and eye the fun shops, bars, and restaurants.  This will give you an idea of some shopping time on Saturday or Sunday before you head back home.

Suggested light dining for Friday evening—start with a visit to one of Galveston’s local bar lounges in the Postoffice Arts District or The Strand, followed by delighting in the tastes of local fish, Italian or Mediterranean fare, New Orleans gumbo, sushi, and even great steaks.  Walk out on the harbor and enjoy a quiet moment as you look at the busy harbor going to rest for the evening.  Note, the historic ship, ELISSA, next door at Texas Seaport Museum.  This is worth a possible visit on Saturday.

When the evening comes to a relaxed close, return to your Bed & Breakfast and enjoy the special ambiance that awaits you.

Saturday

The morning starts off with an eye-opener breakfast in your special Bed & Breakfast.  Each establishment touts fabulous goodies for your breakfast enjoyment, whether it be continental fare or a full gourmet feast.  Each Bed & Breakfast prides itself on its own uniqueness of food and service.

The day moves into wonderful sightseeing.  The Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, located at 23^rd and Broadway, in the historic Ashton Villa, has many brochures available with planned activities for the day.  Places of interest for you may be Moody Gardens, Bishop’s Palace, Ashton Villa, the “official tall ship of Texas, ELISSA, or an exciting cruise of the harbor on Seagull II, located at Texas Seaport Museum.  There is something for everyone in Galveston, even if it is a quiet moment of reading or sunbathing on the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico.  There are many popular lunch spots along the Seawall to enjoy the sights of the afternoon; the choice is yours.

Mid afternoon may look good to return to your Bed & Breakfast for a short nap and relaxation before thinking about the evening’s activities, which may include a performance at the historic 1894 Grand Opera House.

Saturday Evening

This may be a special night for you!  Enjoy what your Bed & Breakfast Innkeepers do for you as you embark on either a relaxed, or sensuous evening.  Your evening may consist of a pre-reserved dinner at another fine eating establishment and you may want your evening to start with a carriage ride through the historic districts and local shopping.  Your Innkeeper can provide you with this information. 

After your unique dining experience, it may be a perfect evening to go for a moonlight walk on the Seawall………it’s a great closure to a romantic evening.

Sunday Morning and Check-Out

It’s not over yet!  You will awake to another wonderful breakfast.  Today is a great day to return to the shops for one last purchase or souvenir before going home, or maybe taking a dip in the Gulf and catch a little sun…..Galveston prides itself in temperate weather….most of the time!
